Ratificatioun to my lord of Thirlestane, chancellar
2Oure soverane lord and estaitis of parliament have advisedlie sene and considderit all and sindrie the infeftmentis and dispositionis of the lordschippis, baronies, landis and utheris underwrittin maid to his richt traist cousing and counsellour Johnne, lord Thirlestane, chancellair of this realme, and Dame Jeane Fleming, his spous, respective, thair aris and successouris contenit in the samyn: that is to say, the lordschip of Mussilburgh schire liand within the schiredome of Edinburgh principall; the lordschip of Dunbar liand within the schiredome of Edinburgh and constabularie of Hadingtoun; the baronies of Stobo and Eddilstoun lyand within the schiredome of Edinburgh principall; the baronie of Braidwod lyand within the schiredome of Lanerk, with castellis, touris, fortalices, maner places, woddis, mylnis, fischingis, fewfermes, coilheuchis, advocatioun, donatioun and richt of patronage of kirkis, prebendaris, chaiplanries and hospitallis, tennentis, tenandries and service of frie tennentis, with privilege of frie regalitie, all unite and annext to the said lordschip of Mussilburgh schire and regalitie thairof; the landis and baronie of Hadingtoun; the landis of Lethingtoun and West Feild, with the castell and fortalice thairof; the landis of Ugstoun with thair pertinentis; ane annuelrent of fyve scoir bollis wictuall, half quheit, half beir, out of the lordschip of Ballincreif; ane annuelrent of ten chalderis wictuall furth of the landis of Merkill and Traprane, all liand within the said schiredome of Edinburgh and constabularie of Hadingtoun; the landis, lordschip and baronie of Thirlestane, with the castell, tour and fortalice thairof, with annexis, connexis, partis, pendicles and pertinentis of the same and privilege of regalitie thairof; the heretable balliarie of Lauderdaill, with all fies, dewties and casualities pertening thairto lyand within the schiredome of Beruik, as the saidis infeftmentis in thame selffis at mair lenth proportis; quhilkis infeftmentis ar maid be oure said soverane lord efter his perfite aige of xxj yeiris and xxv yeiris compleit respective. And als oure said soverane lord and estaitis, having sene and considderit the assignatioun maid be oure said soverane lord to the said Johnne, lord Thirlestane, his aris and assignais, off the reversioun maid be the provest, ballies, counsaill and communitie of the burgh of Edinburgh to his umquhile darrest mother, hir aris and successouris, for redemptioun of the superioritie of Leith, quhilkis infeftmentis and dispositionis, with the former infeftmentis and resignationis quhairupoun the same procedit for the trew and thankfull service done be the said Johnne, lord Thirlestane to his majestie, alsweill in the publict effayres, attendance upoun oure said soverane lordis persoun and the ministratioun of justice within this realme, as in accumpanyng his majestie to his jornay in Norroway and Denmark, quhilk wes to him veray sumpteous, his hienes and estaitis ratifies and apprevis in all pointis and circumstances thairof, togidder with the privilegeis of the regalities foirsaidis with the erectioun of the same, in the honour and estait of ane lordschip of his hienes parliament, to be sua possest, bruikit and joysit with the samyne estait and honour in all tyme cuming. Attour, oure said soverane lord and estaitis, off thair certane knawlege, hes declarit and declaris that the saidis infeftmentis, nor nane of thame fallis, nor sall fall under quhatsumevir his hienes revocationis maid in this present parliament, or at ony tyme preceding the dait heirof. And forder his majestie, with avise foirsaid, ratifies and affermis the resignatioun quhairupoun the said infeftment of the said lordschip of Mussilburgh schire, quhairupoun the said Johnne, lord Thirlestane, his originall infeftment, procedit, with the exceptioun of the samyne landis fra the generall annexatioun of the kirklandis to the croun maid in the parliament haldin at Edinburgh, the xxix day of Julii, the yeir of God jM vC lxxxvij yeiris. Mairattour, oure said soverane lord, with avise of his saidis estaitis, declaris that under the name of the partis, pendicles and pertinentis of the lordschip of Dunbar ar, and salbe, comprehendit the proffittis, dewties and emolumentis off the commonis of the kirkis of Dunbar off all yeiris bygane and to cum, and that the said Johnne, lord Thirlestane, chancellar of this realme, his aris and successouris, haid, and salhave, richt and title thairto off all yeiris sen the said infeftment and siclyk in tyme cuming.
