2Oure soverane lord and his estaitis of parliament hes sene and considderit the pensioun grantit be Johnne Stewart, sone lauchtfull to Frances, sumtyme erll Bothuill, commendater of Kelso, be advise and consent of oure said soverane lord, off his said father, off the administratour and yconomus of the said abbay and of certane utheris, to Schir Alexander Hume of Snuke, knicht, sumtyme commendater of the priorie of Coldinghame, for all the dayis of his lyftyme, off tuentie fyve chalderis wictuall, quhilk is assignit to be payit to him of certane particular partis of the patrimonie of the said abbay, and to umquhile Alexander Hume of Manderstoun and the said Schir Alexander, and the langest levair of thame tua successivelie during thair lyftymes, off ane yeirlie pensioun off all and sindrie the teynd schawis off all and haill thair landis, speciall and generall, contenit in thair said gift liand within the baronie of Coldinghame, quhilkis pensionis wer grantit and gevin to the saidis umquhile Alexander and the said Schir Alexander in contentatioun of the said Schir Alexanderis richt and title quhilk he haid to the said abbacie and benefice of Coldinghame and assythement for the causis specifiit in the decreit arbitrall gevin thairanent, and submittit to the decisioun of oure said soverane lord, quha, be his hienes decreit arbitrall, adjugeit the richt and title of the said benefice to the said Frances, sumtyme erll Bothuill, he makand sufficient securitie to the said Schir Alexander off the said yeirlie pensioun of tuentie fyve chalderis wictuall, be the quhilk it may be cleirlie understande that the saidis pensionis ar ane burding that necessarlie mon ly upoun the said benefice as justlie and lauchfullie grantit for the causis foirsaidis; and thairfoir, oure said soverane lord and his estatis in parliament hes ratifiet and apprevit the saidis lettres of pensioun in all pointis, clausis and articles thairof, and the said ratificatioun in this generall forme to be als sufficient as gif the said lettre wer at lenth insert in thir presentis. And forder oure said soverane lord, with advise of his saidis estaitis, for his hienes and his successouris, declaris and decernis that the foirsaid title of the saidis pensionis grantit to the said Schir Alexander as said is salbe a full richt to him for bruiking of the saidis pensionis during all the dayis of his lyftyme, notwithstanding quhatsumever proces of foirfaltour led or to be led aganis the said Frances, sumtyme erll Bothuill, or quhatsumever sentence or jugement to be gevin aganis the inhabilitie of his aris and posteritie, and speciallie aganis the said Johnne Stewart, commendater foirsaid, that thai sall bruik na landis, heretages, rowmes, benefices nor possessionis within this realme, and nochtwithstanding quhatsumevir uther reasone that may be opponit in the contrair. And als oure said soverane lord and estatis in parliament declaris, be thir presentis, that the said pensioun salbe reservit, lyk as thai reserve the same in the provisioun of quhatsumevir persoun that salbe heirefter provydit thairto; and this present reservatioun to be als sufficient as gif the same wer contenit in the saidis provisionis.
