Ratificatioun to Williame Betoun
2Oure soverane lord and estaitis of this present parliament, remembring the guid, trew and thankfull service done to his hienes be his lovit Williame Betoun, browdinstar, ratifies, apprevis and, for his hienes and his successouris, perpetuallie confirmis the office of browdinsterschip and keping of his hienes wardrop disponit of auld be his hienes to the said Williame, and ratifiet thaireftir upoun the xxiiij day of Januar, jM vC lxxxviij yeris, with the speciall feall of the sowme of xxx lib. money assignit to him in the said gift to be payit to him yeirlie out of the reddiest of the custumes of the trone of Edinburgh be the custumer thairof during all the dayis of the said Williame his awin lyftyme allanerlie; and ordanis oure soverane lordis comptrollair present and to cum and utheris addettit and in use of payment of the foirsaidis feall, and of all uther casualities and dewties belanging and pertening to the said office, to anser and mak thankfull payment of the same to him during his lyftyme as said is.
