Protestatioun of the Duke of Lennox aganis the same

2The quhilk day, in presence of oure soverane lord and his estatis of parliament, comperit personallie Ludovic, duke of Lennox, erll of Dernelie, lord Torboltoun etc., and protestit sollempnitlie that the act past in this present parliament anent the ratificatioun of quhatsumever giftis of pensionis, dispositioun of wictuall and sowmes of monie assert thairfoir, disponit to Alexander, Johnne and James Meldrumis, lauchtfull barnis to umquhile James Meldrum of Segie, suld nocht be prejudiciall or hurtfull to the said lord duke anent his richt and title that he hes to the bischoiprik of Sanctandrois or ony part of the dewtie thairof, and that he micht be hard to propone his resonis and defensis quhensoevir he suld happin to be callit upoun his richt of the same; and thairupoun askit act and instrumentis.
