Ratificatioun to the Lord Lindsay

²Oure soverane lord, with avise of his estaitis in parliament, hes ratifiet and apprevit and, be this present act, ratifies and apprevis the infeftment, gift and dispositioun thairin contenit maid and grantit be his hienes efter his perfite aige of tuentie fyve yeiris compleit and revocatioun generall to his richt traist cousing James, lord Lindsay of the Byris, and to the aris maill lauchfullie gottin or to be gottin of his bodie, quhilkis failyeing to his narrest and lauchfull airis maill quhatsumevir, off all and sindrie the landis, baronies and utheris undirwrittin, viz: all and sindrie the landis and baronie of the Byres, with manis, castell, tour, fortalice, orcheardis, yardis, ducattis, partis and pendicles thairof; the landis of Caldrow, with all thair pertinentis, lyand within the constabularie of Hadingtoun within the schirefdome of Edinburgh; the landis and baronie of Petcruvie, with castell, tour and fortalice thairof; the landis of Merkinche, with the corn mylnis and walk mylnes of the samyne; the landis of Piotistoun; the landis of Monischeill; the tua pairt landis of Edindownie; the tua pairt landis of Cassindillie; the landis and baronie of Pitlessie with the mylnes thairof; the landis of Hiltoun of Binyeane; the landis of Dunnyhaggittis, with all thair pertinentis, lyand within the schirefdome of Fyff; the landis of Duddingstoun; the landis of Newtoun; the landis of Duntarvie, with the marres thairof; the landis of Santserfislawes, with the law grein; the landis of Philpistoun, with the pertinentis; the landis of Gallouscruik; the landis of Duntarvie Craig; the landis of Dogland; the landis of Bynnis; the landis of Manerstoun, with the tour of the samyn; the landis of Eister Scottistoun; the landis of Wester Scottistoun; the mure of Scottistoun als Murieleys Mure; the landis of Mureleyis; the landis of Flodderis; the landis of Medoip, with the toure and fortalice thairof and thair pertinentis, lyand within the baronie of Abircorne within the schirefdome of Linlithgw; the landis of Dene, with the mylnes and mure thairof and thair pertinentis, lyand within the schirefdom of Edinburgh principall; the manys of Drym; the landis of Drymhill; the landis of Coittis; the landis of Midle Thride and Coitakaris under Drym; the landis of Sanyngis; the landis of Muirtoun; the landis of Mungosswallis; the landis of Garbiltoun³; the landis of Harvistoun, with all thair pertinentis, lyand within the said constabularie of Hadingtoun within the schirefdome of Edinburgh foirsaid; the landis of Glendowane; the landis of Glenscherop; the landis of Eister and Wester Quhithill, with the mylnes thairof and thair pertinentis, lyand within the stewartrie of Stratherne within the schirefdome of Perth, with castellis, touris, fortalices, mylnis, fischingis, woddis, forrestis, maner places, partis, pendicles, outsettis, annexis, connexis, tennentis, tennandries, service of frie tennentis, advocationis, donationis and richtis of patronages of kirkis and chaiplanries off all the saidis landis and baronies respective foirsaidis, procedand upoun his said traist cousingis awin resignatioun, togidder with his hienes new gift and dispositioun specefiit in the said infeftment, unione and annexatioun contenit in the same, to be haldin of oure said soverane lord and his hienes successouris in fre heretage, frie baronies and forrestis for evir, for payment yeirlie to his hienes and his successouris for the saidis landis and baronie of the Byres, with the castell, for fortalice, orcheardis, yardis, dowcoittis, partis and pendicles thairof, and for the saidis landis of Caldraw, with thair pertinentis, off ane pair of gilt spurris at the castell and message of the Byres in the day of Sanct Johnne the Baptist in name of blenchferme gif the same be askit allanerlie; and for all and sindrie the uther landis and baronies abonewrittin, with castellis, touris, fortalices, mylnis, woddis, fischingis, schawes, forrestis, marresis, grenis, mures, maner places, partis, pendicles, outsettis, annexis, connexis, tennentis, tennandries, service of frie tennentis, advocationis, donationis, richtis of patronages of kirkis and chaiplanries of the samyn, and all thair pertinentis, thre suittis at thre heid courtis of the schirefdome of Fyff; togidder with service of ward, releif and mariage quhen the samyn salhappin, and taxand the dewtie of the saidis landis in the tyme of the ward and nonentrie thairof to ane hundreth pundis usuall monie of this realme to be payit yeirlie for the samyn at tua termes in the yeir, Witsonday and Martymes in winter, be equall portionis, and ane thowsand markis to be payit for the mariage of the air quhen the samyn salhappin, as in the foirsaid infeftment past under his hienes greit seill off the dait at Edinburgh, the xxv day of Junii, the yeir of God j^M v^C fourscoir ellevin yeiris, and of his hienes regne the xxiiij yeir at mair lenth is contenit.
