Ratificatioun of the commissariat of Edinburgh

2Oure soverane lord and estaitis of this present parliament, considdering that the jurisdictioun ecclesiasticall belanging to the officiallis of auld is, and wes, divolvit in the commissaris chosin and nominat be oure soverane lordis darrest mother to that effect, and that the matrimoniall caussis and bastardies, with the rest of the wechtiest and grytest materis of the said jurisdictioun, wes committit to the commissaris of Edinburgh according to the speciall institutioun and erectioun of the said comissariat maid be oure said soverane lordis mother maid in the monethe of [...], the yeir of God jM vC lx yeiris, be vertew quhairof the saidis commissaris of Edinburgh and thair predicessouris, with the rest of the inferiour commissaris within this realme, hes bene in use and possessioun of thair said jurisdictioun in spirituall caus and hes faithfullie and diligentlie dischargit thair dewties in the administratioun of justice to the leigis; thairfoir his hienes and estaitis of this present parliament ratifies and apprevis the saidis institutioun of the saidis commissaris, erectioun and institutioun thairof, with the injunctionis gevin to thame, thair giftes and provisionis to the saidis offices efter the forme and tennour thairof, with all utheris liberties, privilegis and immunities belanging to thair said jurisdictioun, decerning and declaring the said jurisdictioun to be als ample, of the same force and auctoritie with the jurisdictioun of the saidis officiallis to quhome thai succedit and to have bene fra the beginning thairof, and to be in all tyme cuming, ane lauchfull and ordinar jugement sait, and to bruik all the privilegis thairof.
