Act in favour of the burgh of Carraill
2Oure soverane lord and thre estaittis of this present parliament, understanding that the burgh of Craill is infeft of auld be his hienes umquhile derrest predicessour Robert, king of Scottis, in the libertie, privilege and fredome of ane fre burgh, boundit betuix the mid watter of Levin to the burne of Putekin, with ane fre mercat to be haldin upoun Sonday, as the extract of thair infeftment under the greit seill at mair lenth proportis; and his majestie, haifing consideratioun that all mercattis haldin upone Soundayes ar dischargit be act of parliament, thairfoir oure said soverane lord, with advise of the thre estaittis of this present parliament, alteris and changes the said mercat of Craill, quhilk wes haldin upoun Sonday of befoir, to be haldin now and in all tyme coming upoun Satterday, dischargeing be thir presentis all uther mercattis to be haldin to burgh or to land betuix the said mid watter of Levin and the burne of Putekin foirsaid outwith the said burgh of Craill for ever, quhilkis boundis is the proper libertie and privilege of the said burgh of Craill, grantit thairto of auld be the said infeftment and now fundin and declairit be this present act to be sufficient in all tyme coming, under the pane of escheiting of all maner of guide that salbe apprehendit to be sauld at ony part within the saidis boundis upoun ony day quhatsumever outwith the said burgh of Craill for evir, the ane half to his hienes use and the uther to the commoun guid of the said burgh, and ordinis lettres to be direct thairupoun in forme as effeiris.
