Protestatioun of the Erle of Huntlie for him selff and his freindis

2The quhilk day, in presence of our soverane lord and his thre estaittis of parliament, compeirit persounally George, erle of Huntly, lord Gordon and Badyenauch, lieutennent in the north, and protestit solempnitlie that the act of parliament past this present day in favour of Johnne, erle of Mar, lord Erskin, anent the erldome of Mar, lordschip and regalitie of Gareauch, suld be na hurte nor prejudice to the said erle and his friendis anent thair richtis and titles of quhatsumever landis and possessionis within the said erldome and regalitie, and that thai micht be hard to propone thair ressonis and defensis quhensoever thai or thair successouris salhappin to be callit upoun thair richtis of thair saidis landis and possessionis or onie part thairof; and thairupoun askit actis and instrumentis.
