The benefite of pacificatioun grantit to James Cokkie, sone lawfull to umquhill James Cokkie, goldsmith, burges of Edinburgh

Oure soverane lord, with avise of the thrie estatis of this present parliament, of his speciall grace, and upoun wechtie and guid considerationis tending to the establissing of peax and quietnes and universall obedience of his hienes aucthoritie within this realme, hes gevin and grantit and, be the tennour heirof, gevis and grantis to James Cokkie, sone lawfull to umquhill James Cokkie, goldsmithe, burges of Edinburgh, the lyke favour, grace and benefite of pacificatioun maid and concludit upoun at the burgh of Perth, upoun the xxiij day of Februar, the yeir of God j^M v^C lxxij yeris, and ratefeit and apprevit in his hienes parliament haldin at Edinburgh thairefter in the yeir of God j^M v^C lxxiij yeris, and willis the samyn pacificatioun to be als largelie and favorablie extendit in the favouris of the said James Cokkie, for the suirtie of him, his lyf, landis, honouris, heretageis, rowmis and possessionis quhilkis pertenit to his umquhill father, sua that he may bruik and jois the samyn with all privilegeis and qualities thairof, and restoris, rehabilitatis and makis the said James als lawfull to enter be brevis of our soverane lordis chapell to all landis, rowmis and possessionis quhilkis his said umquhill father had of befoir, or ony part of the samyn, maid or gevin to quhatsumevir persoun or personis throw proces and dome of foirfalture led aganis umquhile James, his father, for ony crymis committit be him in the commoun caus during the tyme contenit in the said pacificatioun, sua that he may succeid as air to him as gif he and his said umquhill father had bene speciallie nominat and comprehendit in the said pacificatioun and not foirfaltit, or as gif the haill articles and conditionis thairof wer heirin expreslie mentionat. And for his better securitie, our said soverane lord, with advise foirsaid, hes ratefeit and apprevit and, be the tennour heirof, ratefeis and apprevis the foirsaid pacificatioun gevin and grantit to the said James in maner abonewrittin in all pointis, efter the forme and tennour thairof, and declaris the samyn to have full effect and force in tyme cumming, and the same benefite to be extendit als largelie in favouris of the said James as is, or may be, extendit to ony persoun or personis obtenaris of the like benefite, of befoir, providing alwayis that the samyn extend not to the murthouris of our soverane lordis father and tua regentis, wichecraft and incest, bot be thir presentis speciallie and expreslie exceptis the samyn, and ordinis lettres to be directit heirupoun, gif neid be, in forme as effeiris.
