Anent the proclamatioun of the actis of parliament

2Forsamekill as it is understand to the kingis majestie and thre estatis of parliament that oftymes doutis and questionis arysis tuiching the proclamatioun of the actis of parliament and publicatioun thairof, it being sumtime alledged be the leigeis that thei ar not bound to observe and keip the samin as lawes, nor incur onie panes contenit thairin, quhill the samin be proclamit at mercat croces of the heid burrowis of all scheyris; for remeding of quhilkis dowtes in tyme cuming, it is statute and ordanit be oure soverane lord and estatis of this present parliament that all actis and statutis of parliament maid at this tyme and that salhappin to be maid at onie tyme heirefter salbe publischit and proclamit at the mercate croce of Edinburgh onlie, quhilk publicatioun oure said soverane lord and estatis foirsaidis decernis and declaris to be als valiabill and sufficient as the samin wer publischit at the heid burrowis of the haill schires within this realme; and alswa declaris the haill leigis to be bundin and astrictit to the obedience of the saidis actis as lawes fourtie dayis eftir the publicatioun of the samin at the said mercate croce of Edinburgh being bypast.
