Anent fals cunyie

Item, forsamekle for the abolissing of the greit quantitie of fals cunyie, quhairwith the commoun weill of this realme is greitlie troublit, to the hevy dampnage and skaith of the haill liegis thairof, thairfoir it is devysit, statute and ordanit be our soverane lord, with avise of my lord regent and thre estatis of this present parliament, that certaine men of jugement, having understanding of cunyie, be chosin and electit within everie burgh of this realme, quha, being sworne thairto, all sowmis of money salbe deliverit in thair presence and quhair ever thay apprehend or find ony fals money, to clip the samin, and the deliverar to tyne the said fals money and the cliptar to have ane penny of ilk pund for his labouris of the ressavar of the money quhilk salbe ressavit; and to that effect, ordanis the provest and bailleis and all utheris officiaris of burrowis to mak sufficient clip housis in sic placis of their burgh as salbe sufficient for the premissis, and the personis quhairto thay commit that charge that thay be abill to answer for thair office in that behalf.
