Anent slaying of hart, hynde and utheris beistis and foulis with culveringis
Item, forsamekle as thair hes bene divers actis and statutis maid of befoir that na maner of person nor personis sould schuit with culveringis, crosbow or handbow ony tyme at da, ra, hart, hynde, hair, cuning, dow, herron or foule of revar under speciall panis contenit in the saidis actis and statutis, and notwithstanding the samin and that na executioun hes followit of befoir upon the personis contravenaris of the saidis actis, thay ar sa lychtlie estemit that the saidis beistis and foulis ar at all tymes slaine downe and distroyit be sic personis that nouther hes regaird to the commoun weill nor policie of the cuntrie; thairfoir, it is statute and ordanit be our soverane lord, with avise of my lord regent and thre estatis of this realme, that quhatsumever person or personis of quhat estate, degre or conditioun that ever thay be of, that gif thay, in ony tymes cuming, schuit with culvering, crosbow or handbow at da, ra, hart, hynde, hair, cuning, dow, herron or foule of the revar within this realme, sall foirfault and tyne thair haill movabill gudis, that ane half thairof to our soverane lordis use and the uther half to be applyit to the juge and apprehendar of him that committis the cryme, to be devydit equallie betuix thame; and to that effect, ordanis all schireffis, stewards, bailleis of regalitie and all uther ordinar jugeis, with sic utheris as sall pleis our soverane lord and his regent gif power and commissioun to, call the contravenaris of this present act at particulare diettis, and gif thay be convict of the cryme, to escheit all thair movabill gudis, to be applyit in maner foirsaid; and gif the committar of the cryme be ane vagabond not havand gudis, that the juge quhome befoir he is convict keip and hauld him in prisoun for the space of fourtie dayis, and that for the first fault; and the nixt fault to cut of his rycht hand.
