Ratification to [Ludovic Stewart], duke of Lennox of his pension out of the property

Our sovereign lord and estates of this present parliament ratify and approve the letter of pension granted by his majesty under his highness's privy seal to his highness's dearest cousin Ludovic, duke of Lennox, earl of Darnley, lord Tarbolton, Methven and d'Aubigny, great chamberlain of this realm of Scotland, of all and whole a yearly pension of 4,000 merks money of this realm of Scotland, to be yearly taken and uplifted by the said lord duke during all the days of his lifetime at two terms in the year, Whitsunday [May/June] and Martinmas [11 November] in winter, by equal portions, out of the readiest and best payment of the fruits, rents and duties of his majesty's property and customs of the kingdom of Scotland, or either of them, from his highness's comptroller present and to come and their deputes in the office thereof, and from the receivers whatsoever of his highness's rents and duties of his majesty's said property and customs present and to come or any one of them. And for better and sure payment of the said yearly pension, the same is specially assigned to be paid to the said lord duke during his said lifetime yearly by the tacksmen present and to come of his highness's customs and imposts of wines of the said kingdom of Scotland, of the first, readiest and best payment of the duties obliged to be paid to his highness and his comptrollers yearly, therefore beginning the first term's payment thereof at the feast and term of Martinmas in the year of God 1611, which letter of pension is dated at his majesty's palace of Whitehall, 10 June 1612, in the whole heads, points, articles, clauses, conditions and circumstances thereof, after the form and tenor thereof in all points. And further his majesty, with advice of his said estates, has dissolved and by this present act dissolves the foresaid yearly pension of 4,000 merks money foresaid from his highness's said property and customs, to the effect the same may be conveyed to the said Ludovic, duke of Lennox, enduring all the days of his lifetime. Likewise his highness and estates foresaid, by the tenor of this present act, now after the said lawful dissolution, give and convey the same pension of 4,000 merks to the said Ludovic, duke of Lennox, during all the days of his lifetime, after the form and tenor of the said letter of pension in all points.
