Ratification in favour of the burgh of Tain of their infeftment

Our sovereign lord and estates of this present parliament ratify, approve and perpetually confirm all and sundry infeftments, charters, precepts, instruments of sasines, confirmations and other rights, titles and securities whatsoever made and granted by his majesty or any of his highness's most noble progenitors to and in favour of the provost, bailies, council, burgesses, inhabitants and community of the burgh of Tain, of the same burgh of Tain, with all lands, tenements, houses, biggings, yards, commonties, fishings, mosses, muirs, privileges, liberties, commodities, parts, pendicles and pertinents of the same whatsoever, lying within the earldom of Ross and sheriffdom of Inverness, of whatsoever date or dates, tenors or contents the same be, in all and sundry points, passages, heads, articles, clauses, conditions and circumstances whatsoever therein contained, after the forms and tenors thereof. Moreover, our sovereign lord and estates foresaid statute and ordain that this present general ratification and confirmation of the infeftments, rights and securities above-written is and shall be as valid, effectual and sufficient as if the same whole infeftments, rights and securities were at length and specially engrossed in this present act; and also that the said infeftments, rights and securities granted to the said provost, bailies, council, burgesses, inhabitants and community of the said burgh and this present ratification thereof are and shall be good, valid and effectual rights, titles and securities to the said provost, bailies, council, burgesses, inhabitants and community of the said burgh and their successors for possessing and enjoying of the same burgh, with all lands, tenements, houses, buildings, yards, commonties, fishings, mosses, muirs, privileges, liberties, commodities, parts, pendicles and pertinents of the same whatsoever in all time coming, according to the tenors of the said infeftments, rights and securities made to them and their predecessors thereupon in all points, with command to [Sir Alexander Hay of Whitburgh], clerk register, and his deputes to extend an act of parliament hereupon in due form.
