Procedure: preamble
The parliament of the most excellent prince James, by the grace of God, king of Great Britain, France and Ireland, defender of the faith, held in Edinburgh on 14 January in the year of the Lord 1606 by these commissioners named below, namely Alexander [Seton], earl of Dunfermline, chancellor of Scotland, William [Douglas], earl of Angus, Peter [Rollock], bishop of Dunkeld, David [Murray], lord Scone, David [Lindsay], bishop of Ross, James [Sandilands of Calder], lord of Torphichen, John Robertson and George Foulis [of Ravelston], for the burgh of Edinburgh, William2 Douglas of Whittingehame, commissioner of the constabulary of Haddington, together with George [Keith], earl Marischal, William Mackieson, depute sheriff of Edinburgh, Alexander Stobo, constable depute and Andrew White, dempster. Suits were called and the court affirmed.
