2Act in favour of the kirk

Our sovereign lord and estates of parliament ratify and approve all and whatsoever acts of parliament made by his majesty or by [Mary], his late dearest mother, in favour of the kirk and religion presently professed and established within this realm of Scotland; and in special ratify and approve all acts of parliament made against Jesuits, papists, seminary priests and their resetters, and ordain the same acts to have full effect and to be put to execution in all points in time coming after the form and tenor thereof. And further, the estates foresaid of this present parliament find, decree and declare that the commissioners nominated and elected in this present parliament for treating upon the union between the realms of Scotland and England shall have no power by virtue of their said commission of the date of this act to treat, confer, deliberate nor do anything that in any manner of way may be hurtful or prejudicial to the religion presently professed in Scotland, acts of parliament made in favour of the same religion and discipline established and observed for maintenance and preservation thereof.
