Discharge of commissions of the exchequer

Our sovereign lord and estates presently convened have discharged and discharge all commissions of exchequer granted heretofore to any persons whatsoever and ordain the same to cease in time to come; and have ordained Walter [Stewart], prior of Blantyre, treasurer, and Sir George Home of Wedderburn, knight, collector and comptroller, to take the burden severally of their offices which they possess presently upon themselves and discharge their duty faithfully therein to his highness's benefit, utility and profit as they will be answerable to his majesty and such commissioners as shall be appointed by his highness to be commissioners of the exchequer and auditors of their accounts yearly in the month of July in all time hereafter.
