Judicial proceeding: summons of treason

The which day, in presence of the king's majesty and his highness's estates in parliament, compeared Master John Dempster, in name and on behalf of William Gordon of Auchindoir, and produced a writing subscribed by the king's majesty direct to Master David MacGill [of Cranstoun-Riddel] and Master John Skene [of Curriehill], his highness's advocates, giving them command to pass from the said William Gordon and to delete him out of the summons pursued by his highness against [George Gordon], earl of Huntly and his colleagues for Donibristle of the date the [...] day of July instant. According to the which writing, the said advocates passed from the said William Gordon of Auchindoir, and immediately thereafter, in presence of the king's majesty, the said William Gordon of Auchindoir's name, surname and style was deleted out of the said summons and executions thereof this instant day. Memorandum: when this act be written forth, to insert the warrant subscribed by the king's majesty word by word in the same act,2 whereupon the said Master John Dempster asked instruments.
