Protestation of Master James Carmichael, minister at Haddington, against the same

2The which day, in presence of the king's majesty and estates of parliament, compeared personally Master James Carmichael, in name of the ministers of the kirks of the abbey of Haddington, and protested that the ratification of [James Meldrum], laird of Seggie's pension to his bairns be not prejudicial to them in their ordinary stipends assigned to them, whereof they have been in possession these years bygone, but that they may possess the same according to their said assignations, notwithstanding of the said ratification in this present parliament.
