Regarding confirmation of the king's proper lands passed without advice of [David Seaton of Parbroath], his comptroller

2Regarding the complaint given in to his majesty and estates of parliament by his highness's comptroller, making mention that diverse and sundry infeftments of his highness's property have passed the seals without the said comptroller's knowledge or consent, through which he is not able to know his majesty's tenants nor their yearly duty; for remedy whereof, our sovereign lord and estates of this present parliament declare and ordain all infeftments of feu ferm or confirmations of the proper lands pertaining to his highness's crown that are made since the entry of this present comptroller to his office, or to be made in time coming, without the express consent and knowledge of the said comptroller the time of the making thereof and subscription of his hand and passing his register, whereby the estate of the said lands are any way altered or innovated, to be null and of no value in all time coming, albeit the same be passed through all the seals, because the comptroller should know when any tenant is altered or newly entered to the king's property, and that the wanting of the comptroller's subscription to the signature, which is the warrant of the said original charter, shall be a sufficient cause of reduction.
