Act in favour of Master David Lindsay, minister at Leith

2Our sovereign lord, with advice of the three estates and whole body of this present parliament, ratifies, approves and perpetually confirms a charter of donation and concession therein contained, made and granted by his majesty, with consent of his late dearest grandfather, Matthew [Stewart], earl of Lennox, lord Darnley, his highness's regent for the time, to his beloved clerk, Master David Lindsay, minister at Leith, his heirs and assignees, of all and sundry lands, tofts, crofts, annualrents, mills, multures, parts and pendicles whatsoever, wherever the same lie in any part within this realm, which pertained to the friars Carmelite, sometime situated beside the burgh of Inverbervie, together with his highness's late charter of confirmation made and granted thereupon, comprehending a new donation and disposition of the aforesaid whole lands, with the pertinents; decrees, statutes and declares, with advice aforesaid, the aforesaid charters and each one of them to be valid and of sufficient force, strength and effect to the said Master David and his aforesaids, whereby they may peaceably use, enjoy and possess all and sundry the aforesaid lands, with the pertinents, perpetually in time coming, notwithstanding whatsoever act, law, statute, proclamation or inhibition, special or general, made or to be made in the contrary; concerning the which his majesty, with advice and consent of the said three estates, for him and his successors, by this act, dispenses forever, saving and reserving always the feu mails indebted out of the same to the hospital of Montrose, according to the original charter made to the said Master David and the gift made to the hospital thereupon, subscribed by our said sovereign lord.
