Act in favour of the session for ratification of their privileges
2Our sovereign lord, now being of his perfect age of 21 years complete, with advice and consent of the three estates of this present parliament, has ratified and approved and, by the tenor hereof, ratifies and approves of new all acts and constitutions of parliament made by whatsoever his highness's predecessors of before in favour of the senators of the college of justice, their members and officers, with all privileges, freedoms, immunities and liberties granted and given to them, and specially the institution, privileges and commodities granted to the college of justice by our sovereign lord's grandfather King James V. Item, the gift given them of the quots of all testaments and power and jurisdiction over the whole commissaries within this realm, the privilege and power granted to them to elect and choose a president most apt and worthy thereof out of their whole number; and decrees and declares the same to have full strength, force and effect in all times hereafter, so that the same may be put to full and due execution in all points and to stand as perpetual laws to them and their successors.
