Act in favour of Robert Erskine, apparent heir of Little Sauchie, and James Colville of Easter Wemyss

The which day our sovereign lord, with advice of his three estates in this present parliament, decrees and declares that the act made in this present parliament against the unlawful profit by the captains and keepers of the king's castles shall in no way extend to the dispossessing of Robert Erskine of Little Sauchie and James Colville of Easter Wemyss, or annulling of their infeftments of the lands of Strathkinness and Ballone, with the kirklands of Cupar and the Clink Mill, otherwise than shall be decreed by decreet arbitral to pass upon the compromise made between Colin [Campbell], earl of Argyll, chancellor and justice general, and James [Stewart], lord of Doune, taking the burden on them for Dame Elizabeth Stewart, countess of Moray, and Margaret Stewart, her sister, daughters to the late James [Stewart], earl of Moray, lord Abernethy, regent to our sovereign lord, his realm and lieges for the time, and for James [Stewart], now earl of Moray, spouse to the said Elizabeth for his interest, and for the tutors and curators of the said Dame Elizabeth, his said spouse, their tutors and the tutors and curators of the said Margaret Stewart on the one part, and the said Robert Erskine on the other part, referred by the said parties to certain indifferent persons and friends and to our sovereign lord as oversman and arbitrator; and that until the said decreet arbitral be pronounced and the effect thereof fulfilled, the said Robert and James shall possess the said lands according to their infeftments, which our sovereign lord, with advice of his said estates, ordains to stand in full force and effect in the meantime.
