The parliament of the most excellent prince James VI, illustrious king of Scots, held in Edinburgh on 30 October in the year of the Lord 1581, through our said supreme lord the king and the three estates of the realm as named hereunder, together with the presence of William Henryson, constable depute, George [Keith], lord Marischal, Lewis Thornton, sheriff of Edinburgh, and Andrew Lindsay judge.
