Judicial proceeding: indictment and petition

The indictment at the instance of their majesty's advocate for high treason against Henry Neville Payne, prisoner, was called and the indictment read.

A petition offered for the panel twice read and the lord advocate and the advocates for the panel being heard on the grounds represented, there was an exculpation granted to the panel to cite his witnesses against tomorrow, and the panel, in the meantime, remanded to prison.
