Warrant: new election
Warrant to the heritors of Forfarshire to elect commissioners

Their majesties' high commissioner and the estates of parliament, considering that the freeholders of the shire of Forfar have not as yet elected any person to represent them in place of the deceased Sir George MacKenzie [of Rosehaugh], nor have made election of two additional commissioners, which that shire is appointed to have by the [...] act of the second session of this parliament; therefore, they ordain and require the freeholders of the said shire to meet at the town of Forfar, being the head burgh of the said shire, upon 30 May instant, and to elect fit and qualified persons to represent that shire conforming to the act of parliament, and do give order and warrant to the sheriff of the said shire or his deputes to intimate the said diet of meeting to the freeholders who are capable to elect commissioners that they may have notice thereof.
