Letters: Declaration of the Nobles to the King of France

[APS, i, 289, includes this note in the table of contents:]

'In a MS which belonged to Mr. J. Anderson, the editor of "Diplomata Scotiae," is the following notice, without any reference to the place where the deed described exists.

"Declaration of the nobles of Scotland made to Philip [IV] king of the French concerning the right and title of Robert I to the crown of the kingdom of Scotland, and that the same Robert is the true, undoubted and nearest heir of King Alexander III who last died, etc. Given at the city of St Andrews in 1308 and the third year of the reign of King Robert. To this declaration are affixed the seals of:
