Judicial proceeding: summons of treason

The which day Master Robert Crichton [of Eliock], advocate to our sovereign lord, asked instruments that he produced instantly [...] Corfitt, servant to Laurence Barclay, for proving of the execution and endorsement of the summons of treason raised and executed against John Cunningham of Drumquhassle, John Cunningham, his son and apparent heir; which [...] Corfitt made faith that he was present, heard and saw the execution and endorsements made by John Reid, messenger, at their dwelling places of Craigievern, Dumbarton Castle and market cross thereof, in form and manner as the executions and endorsements bear; whereupon the said advocate asked instruments and desired further process upon the said summons.
