Forasmuch as our sovereign lord and estates of parliament are informed that Alexander, lord Spynie, being within age the time of the sitting of the commission for plantation of kirks in the years 1617 and 1618, he being in foreign parts, therefore our sovereign lord, with advice and consent of the estates of parliament, gives full power and commission to the lords of session to try the truth of the said information and to redress any prejudice sustained by the said Lord Spynie regarding the commission aforesaid given for plantation of kirks in such form and manner as they shall think expedient, providing always that the stipends for ministers appointed by the commissioners be not diminished.
