Ratification to Sir William Oliphant and his sons of their infeftments of diverse lands

Our sovereign lord, estates and whole body of this present parliament ratify, approve and perpetually confirm the charter granted by his majesty for the causes therein expressed to his familiar clerk and trusty councillor Sir William Oliphant of Newton, knight, his highness's advocate, in liferent for all the days of his lifetime, and to Master James Oliphant of Muirhouse, advocate, before the lords of council and session of the kingdom of Scotland, his male heirs and assignees whatsoever in fee heritably, of all and whole the town and lands of Kildinny, with houses, buildings, tofts, crofts, parts, pendicles, outsets, cottages, privileges and commodities thereof whatsoever lying within the parish of Forteviot and sheriffdom of Perth; and of all and whole the lands of Collindreme and Maw, with the mill of Maw, mill lands and multures thereof lying within the sheriffdom of Fife, given in special warrandice and security of a part of the aforesaid town and lands of Kildinny; and also of all and whole the lands of Baldinnies, with tenants, tenancies and service of free tenants of the same, parts, pendicles and pertinents thereof lying within the sheriffdom of Perth, which whole lands specially above-rehearsed, with the salmon fishing in the water of Earn and commonty in and through the whole commonty of Forgandenny, with parts, pendicles, privileges and commodities thereof, are erected in a whole and free barony called the barony of Kildinny, and to the said Sir William in liferent and to Master William Oliphant, his second son, his male heirs and assignees whatsoever in fee heritably of all and whole the half lands and barony of Strathbrock, with the half mill thereof, advocation and donation of the kirk and chaplainry of Strathbrock, taking turns, with tenants, tenancies, service of free tenants thereof and their pertinents lying within the sheriffdom of Linlithgow, erected in a free barony called the barony of Strathbrock Oliphant, which charter contains a clause of novodamus and is given, granted and conveyed to be held of our said sovereign lord and his highness's successors in free blench ferm for payment of the blench ferm duty expressed in the same, with the precepts and instruments of sasine following upon the said charter, which is of the date at Newmarket, 4 February 1618, in all and sundry heads, points, articles, clauses, circumstances, conditions, privileges, liberties and immunities whatsoever contained in the forenamed charter; and will, declare, statute and ordain this present ratification to be of as great strength, force and effect as if the said charter, with the precepts and instruments of sasine following thereupon, whole tenors and contents thereof were word by word at length inserted herein; concerning which our said sovereign lord and estates of parliament dispense by this ratification.
