The parliament of the said most excellent prince James, by the grace of God, king of Great Britain, France and Ireland, defender of the faith, held in Edinburgh on 12 April in the year of the Lord 1609 by these commissioners named below, namely Alexander [Seton], earl of Dunfermline, chancellor, James [Law], bishop of Orkney, [Robert Seton], earl of Winton, Lord John Cockburn of Ormiston, knight, Master John Preston of Penicuik, Lord David Lindsay of Edzell, knight, Thomas Fisher and George Foulis [of Ravelston] for Edinburgh, together with Archibald Bald for the marischal, Alexander Stobo for the constable, George Purdie for the sheriff, and Andrew White, dempster. Suits were called and the court lawfully affirmed.
