Judicial proceeding: summons of treason

The which day Sir Thomas Hamilton of Monkland, knight, advocate to our sovereign lord, produced four summonses of treason raised at our sovereign lord's instance, one against Patrick [Stewart], earl of Orkney, the second against Rory MacLeod of Harris, the third against Richard Graham of Redkirk, and the fourth against Rory MacNeil of Bara, who, being all thrice called at the tolbooth window and none compearing except the said Patrick, earl of Orkney, who, being personally present, asked instruments that he was personally present and ready to answer to the said summons of treason raised against him.
