The continued parliament of the said most excellent prince James, by the grace of God, king of Scotland, England, France and Ireland, defender of the faith, held in Perth on 3 July in the year of the Lord 1604, by the undernoted commissioners, namely John [Spottiswood], archbishop of Glasgow, David [Lindsay], bishop of Ross, Alexander [Campbell], bishop of Brechin, John [Stewart], earl of Atholl, James [Drummond], lord Drummond, William [Melville], commendator of Tongland, and Lord William Stewart of Traquair, knight, together with Master John Moncrieff, sheriff depute of Perth, Master George Fraser, marischal depute, John Yellowlees, constable depute, and David Hay, dempster. Suits were called and the court affirmed.

Committee members: lords of the articles

After the fencing of the which parliament the day foresaid within the tolbooth of the said burgh of Perth by the foresaid commissioners, directed by [John Graham], earl of Montrose, great commissioner foresaid, to that effect, the lords of articles underwritten, chosen of before at Edinburgh, 26 April last, convened all together within the king's lodging in Perth with the Earl of Montrose, great commissioner of this parliament foresaid, that is to say:

Procedure: lords of the articles' statement of business

The said [John Graham], earl of Montrose, great commissioner, and whole lords of articles convened the said 3 July 1604 and sat the same day and each lawful day thereafter until 11 July inclusive, advising and concluding upon the articles given in to them during that space and for performing of all things committed to them by the king's command and direction.
