The king's majesty, with advice of his nobility, council and estates presently convened, gives and grants full power and commission, express bidding and charge to Walter [Stewart], lord Blantyre, treasurer, Sir Archibald Napier of Edinbellie, knight, John Arnott, Henry Nisbet, Thomas Foulis, William Napier, Francis Napier, George Heriot, elder, or any five of them jointly, to set down a table of the prices of all gold and silver usually imported within this realm according to the value, weight and fines thereof which his majesty's master coiner shall be astricted to pay to the importers thereof hereafter; and that the same table be affixed openly in the house of exchange through which the same may the better come to the knowledge of his highness's subjects at all occasions, firm and stable holding and for to hold all and whatsoever things they shall lawfully do herein etc.
