Our sovereign lord, with advice of the estates of the parliament, considering the great damage that the lieges sustains through the sitting of the session after 1 August, harvest being in many parts of the country already then begun, and understanding that the lords of session are content during the whole summer session to enter in the tolbooth and call matters daily at 8 o'clock, whereas their ordinary diet was not until 9 o'clock, therefore statutes and ordains that the harvest vacation shall begin on 1 August and the session to sit to 31 July inclusive.
