Ratification to Sir Patrick Vans of Barnbarroch, knight, presently one of the king's ambassadors in Denmark

Our sovereign lord, after his lawful and perfect age of 21 years complete and general revocation, with advice of his three estates of parliament, ratifies and approves and, for his highness and his successors, perpetually confirms the charter and infeftment made by his highness, with advice of his highness's comptroller for the time, to his well beloved and familiar councillor Sir Patrick Vans of Barnbarroch, knight, one of the senators of his highness's college of justice and presently one of his highness's ambassadors directed to [Frederick II], king of Denmark, and to the said Sir Patrick's heirs and assignees specified therein, of all and whole the lands of Knoktane, Kildarroch, Kirrywaltane and five merk land of Kereburne, lying within the sheriffdom of Wigtown, old kindly possessions to the said Sir Patrick and his predecessors, as the same infeftment of the date at Holyroodhouse, 27 November 1582, at more length purports; and decrees and ordains the said infeftment to be as effectual and valuable to them for possessing and enjoying of the said lands as if the same had been given and set by his highness after his said lawful and perfect age of 21 years complete and general revocation aforesaid.
