†The which day, Master John Graham of Hallyards, one of the senators of the college of justice and justice depute to a noble and mighty lord, Colin,† earl of Argyll, lord Campbell and Lorne, justice general of this whole realm, protested solemnly that the act of parliament passed this present day concerning the furtherance of justice in criminal judgement should in no way turn the said earl to any prejudice, but that he might enjoy his office with all commodities and privileges belonging thereto as if the said act had never been made.
