Our sovereign lord, with advice of the three estates of this present parliament, has ratified and confirmed, and, by the tenor hereof, ratifies, approves and confirms the infeftment and charter made by the late James Mossman, goldsmith, burgess of Edinburgh, to Janet King, daughter to Alexander King, advocate, burgess of the said burgh, his spouse, of all and whole the eight oxengang of land of the lands of Wray, with the pertinents, lying in the lordship of Linlithgow and sheriffdom of the same, in liferent, for all the days of her lifetime, of the date at Linlithgow, 20 February 1570 [1571], with confirmation granted by our said sovereign lord upon the said late James Mossman's charter and new gift and disposition contained therein, of the date 24 June 1581, with the instrument of sasine passed thereupon, according to the tenor and effect thereof in all points, and of new grants and conveys the aforesaid lands to the said Janet, to be possessed and enjoyed by her enduring her lifetime with all right that our said sovereign lord has or may have thereto, and decrees and declares the same to be sufficient to her for possessing of the said lands during the space aforesaid, after the form and tenor of the said infeftment, confirmation and new disposition granted to her thereof in all points, and ordains letters to be directed hereupon in the appropriate form.
