Oure soverane lord and estatis of this present parliament ratefeis, apprevis and perpetualie confermis ane infeftment daitit at Newmercat, the threttene day of December, the yeir of God ane thowsand sex hundreth and nyne yeris, maid [and]† grantit be his majestie, with consent of his hienes thesaurar, comptrollair and collectoure for the tyme, to and in favouris of the provest, baillies, counsell, communitie, burgesses and inhabitantis of the burgh of Dumbertane and thair successouris, be the quhilk oure said soverane lord hes not onelie gevin, grantit and disponit to the said burgh, magistraittis, communitie and inhabitantis thairof sindrie new privilegeis, liberties, immunities, casualities and utheris particularlie set downe in the said infeftment, bot alsua hes ratifeit, approvin and confermit divers and sindrie auld evidentis, infeftmentis, writtis, richtis and securities maid and grantit be oure said soverane lord and his majesties maist worthye progenitours of excellent memorie to and in favours of the said burgh of Dumbertane, magistraittis, communitie and inhabitantis of the same, alsweill particularlie as generalie mentionat and set downe in the foirsaid infeftment, in all and sindrie heidis, pointis, articlis, clauses, privilegeis, immunities, circumstances and conditiones specifeit and set downe thairintill; and ordainis thir presentis to be als gude, valide, effectuall and sufficient to the saidis provest, baillies, counsale and communitie of the said burgh of Dumbertane and thair successours as gif the foirsaid infeftment war heirintill set downe and ingrost de verbo in verbum. And further, oure said soverane lord and estaitis foirsaidis statutis and ordanis that the foirsaid infeftment is and salbe ane gude, valide, effectuall andsecuritie† to the said burgh of Dumbertane, magistraittis, burgesses and inhabitantis thairof and thair successours for brouking, joysing, using and possessing in all tyme cuming of all and sindrie giftis, liberties, privilegis and utheris thairin contenit efter the forme and tennoure thairof in all points. It is alwayes declarit be his majestie and his saidis estaitis of parliament that this present ratificatioun of the foirsaid infeftment maid and grantit to the said burgh of Dumbertane sall nawyse be hurtfull nor prejudiciall in ony sort to the richt reverend father in God Johnne, archiebischop of Glasgow and his successours anent thair richt of regalitie or uther richt quhatsomevir competent to thame of the landis underwrittin, viz: the landis of Partick, Barschagrie, Hyndlands, Balgray, Cartnavile, Quhiteinche and Kirklie, quhilk richt of regalitie or utherwyse ar heirby expreslie reservit but ony dirogatioun maid thairto.
