26. Oure soverane lord and haill estaittis of this present parliament ratefeis, appreves and perpetualie confermis ane letter of pensioun gevin, grantit and disponit be his majestie under the privie seall to James Hammyltoun, servitour to Schir Thomas Hamyltoun of Bynnie, knycht, his grace advocat, for solisting and attending his majesteis actiounes and affairis in sessioun and chekker, for all the dayes of his lyfetyme, of the sowme of fyve hundreth merkis usuale money of Scotland, to be uptakin be him at Witsonday and Mertymes be his hienes thesaurar and comptroller equalie betuix thame, as the samin daitit at Whythall, the tent day of Aprile 1606 yeiris at mair lenth proportis in all pointis, clauses and conditionis thairof, to be peciable bruikit, joisit and upliftit during all his said lyfetyme, but ony revocatioun, impediment or agane calling; ordaning alsua the said James Hammyltoun, be thir presentis, to continew in attending and solisting his majesteis actiones and affairis in sessioun and chekker, and in utheris judgementis within this realme wheir it appertenis, and to injoy all utheris casualiteis, liberteis, privileges, fredomes and immunites as ony uther attendant and solister had and injoyit the lyk in ony tyme bigane, notwithstanding of whatsumevir gift gevin or to be gevin thairof to ony uther persone or persones.
