23. Oure soverane lord and estaittis of parliament presentlie convenit, ratefeis, apprevis and confermis the charter and infeftment maid be his majestie undir his hienes great seall of the date at Halyrudhous, the tuentie thrid day of November, jM vC fourscoir nyntene yeiris, to Thomas Peirsoun of Lochlandis, of his landis of Lochlandis, with the teyndscheves thairof includit and loch belonging thairto, the landis of Barnegrene, with the teyndis and pertinentis thairof, lyand within the regalitie of Aberbrothok and schirefdome of Forfar, and of his house and tenement lyand within the burgh of Aberbrothok, in all and sindrie heidis, pointis and articlis thairof. And oure said soverane lord and estaittis declaris that the said infeftment shall stand ane effectuall richt and securitie to the said Thomas, his airis and assignais for bruiking and joising of the saidis landis conforme to the tennoure thairof, and be als valide and sufficient as gif the samin had bene at lenth word be word ingrossit heirin, but prejudice alwayes to James, marques of Hammyltoun of his erectioun of the said abbacie of Aberbrothok in ane temporall lordschip.
