Protestatioun for the quenis majestie

The quhilk day Alexander Seytoun, lord Fyvie, president of the college of justice, protestit in name and behalf of the quenis majestie that the foirsaid exceptioun contenit in the act of annexatioun maid in favouris of Schir Hew Heres, knycht, anent the teyndis of the landis of Cowsland, be nawayes prejudiciall to hir majestie nor to ony richt quhilk scho hes or may have in and to the samin teyndis pertening to the lordschip of Dumfermeling, and siclyk that the infeftment or richt maid in this present parliament or to be maid heireftir to the said Schir Hew of the saidis teyndis of Cowsland be nocht prejudiciall to hir majestie and to hir richt of the samin teyndis; the quhilk protestatioun the haill estaittis of parliament grantit and admittit.

Protestatioun for the Erle of Rothes

The quhilk day, in presens of oure soverane lord and estaittis of parliament, comperit Maisteris Johne Scharp and Robert Lermonth, procutoris for ane richt nobill and michtie erle, Andro, erle of Rothes, lord Leslie, and producit ane acquittance and discharge maid to him and umquhile Dame Jeane Ruthven, his spous, be umquhile Williame, lord Ruthven, as tutour testamentar to umquhile Henrie, lord Methven, be the quhilk the said umquhile Williame, lord Ruthven, as tutour testamentar foirsaid, grantit him to have ressavit fra the said nobill erle and his said spous the airschip gudis pertening to the said umquhile Henrie, lord Methven, quhilkis ar particularlie specefeit in the foirsaid discharge, and forder grantit him as tutour testamentar foirsaid to have ressavit full and complete payment and delyverance fra the said nobill erle of all uther gudis and geir intrometit with be him and his said umquhile spous quhilkis onywayes pertenit to the said umquhile Lord Methven, and exonerit and dischargit thame thairof and also band and oblist him, his airis and successouris to warrand and keip thame skaithles of the samin at all handis, as in the said acquittance and discharge bering the foirsaid obligation of warrandice of the date at Methven, the auchtene day of Januar the yeir of God jM vC threscoir fourtene yeiris, quhilk the saidis procutoris procurit in judgement, at mair lenth is contenit, and protestit that the proces and dome of foirfaltour led and gevin aganis Johne, sumtyme erle of Gowrie, air be progress and successour to the said umquhile Williame, lord Ruthven suld nawayes hurte the said Andro, erle of Rothes, his airis and successouris anent the said acquittance and discharge bot that he, his airis and successouris micht be relevit of the saidis airschip gudis and utheris gudis contenit thairin at the handis of the airis and successouris of the said umquhile Henrie, lord Methven be ressone of the delyverance of the samin maid be the said Andro, erle of Rothes to the said umquhile Williame, lord Ruthven, tutour testamentar foirsaid, quha at that tyme justlie micht have ressavit the samyn being tutour testamentar as said is; quhilk protestatioun oure said soverane lord and his saidis estaittis in parliament hes admittit and admittis as accordis of the law.
