†The kingis majestie, his nobilitie and counsall presentlie convenit, movit with the extreame indignitie done to his majestie in the seditious and tressonabill uproare committit aganis his majestie sitting in his seate of justice in the tolbuith of Edinburgh upoun the sevintene day of December lastbipast, quhairwithall his majestie, his nobilitie and counsall can burdyn nane bot the provest, bailleis, counsall and haill bodie of the said burgh quhair the said pernitious fact wes divisit and execute be sa grit ane nowmer of the burgeses and induellaris of cheifest rank and authoritie within the same, that his majestie, his nobilitie and counsall ar persuwadit that the magistratis and bodie of the said town, be divising, interprising, executing, allowance and ratihabitioun of the said fact, ar universallie giltie thairof; and thairfoir ordanis letteris to be direct to officiaris of armes, schireffis in that parte, chargeing thame to pas, command and chairge the provest, bailleis, counsall and deaconis of craftis representing the haill bodie of the said burgh of Edinburgh, be oppin proclamatioun at the mercat croce of the samyn, to pas and enter thair personis in warde within the burgh of Perth upoun the first day of Februar nixt, thairin to remane and keip warde thairefter upoun thair awne expenses ay and quhill thay be tryit foule or clene of the said tressonabill fact before the justice and his deputtis in the tolbuith of the same burgh according to the particular dittay to be gevin thairupoun, and that justice be ministrat as appertenis undir the pane of rebellioun and putting of thame to the horne; and giff thay failyie, the said day being bipast, to denunce thame incontinent thaireftir his hienes rebellis and putt thame to the horne and escheat etc.
