Oure soverane lord and thrie estaitis of this perliament, understadand that his hienes efter his perfite aige of tuentie fyve yeris compleit and last and generall revocatioun in the moneth of Januar the yeir of God jM vC fourscoir ellevin yeiris, be his hienes chartour under the greit seill, hes gevin, grantit and disponit to Schir James Douglas of Drumlangrig, knicht, and his aris mail quhatsumevir berand the surname of Douglas and armes of the hous of Drumlangrig, all and sindre the landis, baronies and utheris undirwrittin, with castellis, towris, fortalices, maner placis, woddis, mylnis, multuris, fischingis, tennentis, tenandries and service of frie tennentis, advocatioun, donatioun and richt of patronages of kirkis and chaiplanries, outsettis, pertis, pendicles, annexis, connexis, dependances and pertinentis thairof and utheris efter specifiit, viz: all and haill the landis and baronie of Drumlangrig, with castellis, touris, fortalices, maner places, corne milnes and walk mylnis and suckin of the samyn, woddis, parkis, fischingis on the watter of Nyth and thair pertinentis, liand within the schirefdome of Drumfreis; all and haill the landis and baronie of Tibberis, with the castell and castelmoit thairof, with the corne mylnis and walk mylnis of the samyn, tennentis, tennandries and service of frie tennentis of the same and all thair pertinetis; all and haill the ten merk land of auld extent of the toun of Dalgarnok; all and haill the fiftie s. land of the same extent of Glencorse and Drumfoidyeane, with the pertinetis, liand within the said schirefdome of Drumfreis; all and haill the landis and baronie of Hawik, alsueill propirtie as tennandrie, viz: in propirtie the toun of Hawik, with the mylne thairof, the landis of Eist Manys, West Manys, Cruhauch and Kirtoun of Manys, Flekis, Maisterayneis, Ramsay Clewis, Braidley, Teyndsyde, Carling Pule and Almouslandis, and in tennandrie the landis of Howpaislott, Chisholme, Quhithop, Drydane, Commounsyd, Owir Harwoid, Emeschellis, Nethair Harwoid, Weyndislandis, Eister and Wester Hessilhoip, Langhauch, Lawis, Toftis, Kirkwod, Harwodhill, Quhitchester, Fynnik, Edyerstoun, Edyerstoun Scheillis and Quhawmes, with tennentis, tennandrie, service of frie tennentis, advocatioun, donatioun and richt of patronage of kirkis and chaiplanries of the samyn; and all and sindre thair pertinentis liand within the schirefdome of Roxburgh; all and haill the landis of Knok, Auchinskeoch, Mekilholme, Curew, Dulfibbill and tua Garwaldis, extending in the haill to fourtie aucht pund land of auld extent, with mylnes, multuris, tennentis, tennandries and service of frie tennentis of the samyn and the pertinentis, liand within the baronie of Kirkmichaell and schirefdome of Drumfreis foirsaid; all and haill the ten pund land of Carutheris, Downnabie and Kirktilclosch, with the pertinentis, liand within the stewartrie of Annerdaill; all and haill the xx lib. land of auld extent of Mouswald, Howquhat and Haitland Hill, with the tour, fortalice, mylnis, advocatioun and donatioun of the kirk of Mouswald; all and haill the tuentie pund land of Logane, tenement, with the mylnis and pertinentis; all and haill the ten pund land of auld extent of Dronnok, with the half of the fisching of the samyn; all and haill the xl s. land of Cummertries; all and haill the merk land of Stanereis; all and haill the tuentie pund land of Pendersax, with advocatioun and donatioun of the kirk of the samyn; all and haill the ten pund land of Mydilbie, with advocatioun and donatioun of the kirk of the samyn; all and haill the fyve merk land of West Skalis; all and haill the tua merk land of auld extent of Hoddum; all and haill the markland of the Holmes of Annand callit the Blewberrielandis; all and haill the merk land of Wastwod; all and haill the tuentie s. land of Reidhall, with castellis, towris, fortalicies, maner places, mylnis, multuris, tennetis, tennandries, service of frie tennentis off all and sindre the saidis landis liand within the said stewartrie of Annardaill; all and haill the ten pund land of auld extent of Almernes, with the maner place, houses, biggingis, fischingis, fische yairis and pertinentis; all and haill the fyve merk land of auld extent of Cragmowe, with maner place, houses, bigingis, pertis, pendicles and pertinentis liand within the stewartry of Kircubreich, togidder with the advocatioun, donatioun of the paroch kirkis and perrochynnis of Kirkbryd and Durisdeir, all unite, annext, creat and incorporat ofbefoir in ane haill and frie baronie of Drumlangrig; and als all and haill the fyve merk land of Ardis, with the pertinentis, liand within the baronie of Corsmichaell and stewartrie of Kircubreich, togidder with the advocatioun and donatioun of the paroche kirk and perrochin of Glencarne, baith personage and vicarage, liand within the said schirefdome of Dumfreis; and hes unite the said fyve merk land of Ardis with the advocatioun and donatioun of the said paroche kirk of Glencarne in and to the said baronie of Drumlanrig; and als hes disponit to the said Schir James and his aris maill foirsaidis the advocatioun and donatioun of the perroch kirkis of Penpount, Mortoun and Dalgarnok liand within the said schirefdome of Dumfreis, and hes unite the same with the said baronie of Drumlangrig, to remane with the said Schir James and his aris foirsaidis; and hes erectit the saidis haill landis and baronies and utheris respective foirsaidis in ane frie regalitie with frie chappell and chancellarie within the boundis thairof, with all privilegis, liberties and jurisdictionis of the said regalitie siclyk and als frelie in all respectis as ony regalitie hes within this realme, as the said charter of unioun and erectioun of the dait foirsaid at mair lenth proportis; thairfoir oure said soverane lord, with advise of the saidis estaitis of perliament, hes ratifiet, apprevit and confirmit and be the tennour heirof, for his hienes and his successouris, ratifies, apprevis and perpetuallie confirmis the said charter, donatioun, unioun and erectioun thairin contenit with all and sindre pointis, passages, clauses, articles and conditionis specifiit thairin, and with all uther infeftmentis, richtis and titillis quhatsumevir maid and grantit to the said Schir James and his foirsaidis of the foirnamit baronies and uthairis befoir rehersit; and decernis and declaris the samyn to be ane perpetuall richt to the said Schir James and his aris maill foirsaidis off the haill landis, baronies and utheris particularlie abone contenit, and to be als sufficient as gif the said charter wer at lenth insert heirintill. Provyding alwayes that the said Schir James sall resinge and renunce the advocatioun and donatioun of the said paroch kirk of Dalgarnok to Thomas Kirkpatrik of Cloisburne, his aris and assignais, utherwyis this present ratificatioun and the said charter sall not be extendit to the said advocatioun and donatioun of the said kirk bot the samyn salbe null in that point allanerlie.
