Judicial proceeding: summons of treason

And immediatlie thaireftir the foirsaidis summondis of tressone rasit at oure soverane lordis instance and execute aganis the said Frances, sumtyme Erll Bothuill, being red in presence of the kingis majestie and lordis of articles, and the samyn being hard, sene and understand be thame, and thay thairwith being ryplie advysit, the saidis estaitis findis and declaris the reasone and caus contenit in the same summondis of tressone relevant aganis the said Frances, sumtyme Erll Bothuill; and thairfoir admittis the same summondis to the said advocattis probatioun, quha, being personallie present, declarit that he suld use his probatioun with all expeditioun. And the said advocat askit instrumentis of the relevancie of the saidis summondis, and that the saidis estaitis had fund the ressone of the said summondis relevant.

And siclyk the saidis advocattis producit lettres of relaxatioun of the dait the xvj day of Merche and of the kingis regne the xxvj yeir, with the executioun thairof berand the said Frances, sumtyme Erll Bothuill to be relaxit at the mercat croce of Edinburgh fra the proceses of horning led aganis him for quhatsumevir caus or occasioun bygane proceding the dait of the saidis lettres; quhilk executioun is execut upoun the xxvj day of Merche jM vC lxxxxiij yeiris be Williame Porteous, messinger. And thairupoun the saidis advocattis askit instrumentis.
