†Forsamekle as the personage and vicarage of the kirk of Drymmen, quhilk is ane pairt of the patrimonie of the archebischoiprik of Glasgw, hes pertenit in tak and assedatioun to Johnne Schaw of Broiche and his predicessouris as kyndlie tennentis thairof thir mony yeris bypast, for renewing of the quhilkis takkis, frome tyme to tyme, the said Johnne Schaw hes debursit greit sowmes of monie, and speciallie in the tyme of James Betoun, sumtyme archebischoip of Glasgw, thaireftir in the tyme of Maistir James Boyid, quha wes providit to the said archebischoiprik be the process of barratrie led aganis his said predicessour; quhilkis assedationis, becaus thay micht have bene questionit be the restitutioun of the said Archebischoip James Betoun aganis the said proces of barratrie led contrair him, quhilk restitutioun remanit nocht lang effectuall in his persoun be reasone he falyiet in geving the confessioun of his faith and acknawlegeing of oure soverane lordis auctoritie as wes ordanit be the said restitutioun, and thairfoir the seat of Glasgw than vacand, the said Johnne Schaw obtenit ane new tak and assedatioun maid be oure soverane lord, with advise of the greit deane, vicar generall and chaiptour of the metropolitane kirk of Glasgw, sett to him, his aris, executouris and assignais off the fruittis, teyndis, rentis and emolumentis of the said kirk of Drymmen, personage and vicarage thairof, for the space of xix yeiris beginnand at the croip and yeir of God jM vC fourscoir nyne yeiris, for payment of the auld dewtie contenit in the said Johnis former tak sett be umquhile Maistir James Boyid, and rentall usit; quhilkis takkis sett be the said umquhile Maistir James Boyid, as also the tak and assedatioun sett be his majestie with consent of the deane and chaiptour sede vacante, oure soverane lord and estaitis of this present parliament, having sene and considderit, findis the same justlie and lauchfullie grantit be the said umquhile Maistir James Boyid, and be oure said soverane lord, the seige of Glasgw than vacand, with avise foirsaid, to the said Johnne Schaw, his aris and assignais foirsaidis, and that the same is, hes bene and salbe sufficient richt and title to the said Johnne and his foirsaidis for bruiking of the fruittis of the said kirk, personage, and vicarage thairof, for the space contenit thairin; and that in respect of the greit yeirlie dewtie quhilk he is haldin to pay thairfoir, extending yeirlie to fourtene scoir markis, by and attoure the manse and gleb of the said kirk possessit and reservit to the minister thairat, nochtwithstanding that it salhappin oure said soverane lord, be his majestie self, or be advise of the estatis of his hienes parliament, at this tyme or ony tyme heirefter, to dissolve the said parsonage and vicarage fra the said archebischoiprik, or to gif and dispone the advocatioun, donatioun and richt of patronage thairof to ony uther persoun or personis or to provyd a speciall persoun and vicar thairto; quhilkis persoun and vicar sua to be provydit salbe haldin to allow, appreve and keip the saidis takkis bygane and samony yeiris thairof as ar to rin, and that thay nor nane utheris sall nevir heireftir be hard to impunge the same, bot salbe obleist to renew the saidis takkis to the said Johnne Schaw of Broiche, his aris and assignais, kepand the substance of the former gif the said Johnne think the same expedient.
