Forsamekle as oure soverane lord, his nobilitie, counsall and esteatis presentlie convenit, following the previlege grantit to thame be act of his hienes parliament haldin in the moneth of Julii lastbipast twicheing his majesteis marriage, hes thocht meit, concludit and aggreit that for sustening of the honnourable chargeis and expensis tobe maid upoun the same, his mariage now appointit to be accomplissit with all convenient expeditioun, thair salbe collectit and upliftit ane taxatioun of ane hundreth thowsand pundis and payit at the termes following: that is to say, fifty thowsand pundis betuix and the feist of Martymes nixtocum in this instant yeir of God jM vC fourescoir aucht yeiris; tuentie fyve thowsand pundis betuix and the feist of Martymes thaireftir in the yeir of God jM vC fourescoir nyne yeiris, and tuentie fyve thowsand pundis in compleit payment of the said taxatioun of ane hundreth thowsand pundis betuix and the feist of Martymes nixt and immediatlie thaireftir following in the yeir of God jM vC fourescoir ten yeiris; to the payment quhairof all sortis and degreis of personis without exceptioun salbe subjectit according to thair rentis and habilitie pro rata, nochtwithstanding ony privilege or exemptioun past or grantit of befoir in the contrair, defeasand and allowand sax thowsand pundis of the burrowis pairt thairof advanceit be thame for this purpois of befoir, according to the actis of secrete counsall maid thairanent.
