†Oure soverane lord and his thre estaittis in parliament, for the gude, trew and thankfull service done to his hienes be his richt traist counsallour Schir Johnne Maitland of Thirlstane, knicht, his majesties chancellair and secretair, now efter his hienes perfite aige and generall revocatioun, hes ratifiit and apprevit and, be the tennour of this present act, ratifies and apprevis and, for his hienes and his successouris, perpetuallie confermis the new infeftmentis of the landis, lordschippis, baronies and offices efterspecifiit maid to his said rycht traist counsallour, his airis and assignais efterspecefiit, in fee and heretage, and of ane pairt thairof to Dame Jeane Flemyng, his spous, as is eftermentionat: that is to say, the new infeftment of all and haill the landis, lordschip and baronie of Thirlstane, with all landis, lordschippis and baronies annext thairto and incorporat within the samin laitlie resignit be the said Schir Johnne in oure said soverane lordis handes for the said new infeftment to be gevin thairof, off the quhilk lordschip the speciale landis efter following ar disponit to the said Dame Jeane Flemyng in lyfrent: thay are to say, all and haill the manis and toun of Blyth and Hadderwik, the landis of Garmire, with thair pertinentis, liand in the baronie of Blyth and lordschip of Lawderdaill, within the schirefdome of Berwick; all and haill the landis of Trottenschaw and the equale half of the landis of Byrecleuch, with woddis, schawis, pasturages, pairtis and pendiclis of the samin, liand within the lordschip of the forrest of Dy and the said schirefdome of Berwick; and siclik of the office of the heretable baillierie and jurisdictioun upoun all the tennentis and inhabitantis of the landis and lordschip of Lawderdaill, excepte the landis specialie contenit in the said new infeftmentis, quhilkis ar separat fra the jurisdictioun of the said baillierie and ar unit and annext to the said lordschip of Thirlstane, with full and frie privilege of regalitie and justiciarie, to be broukit in frie regalitie and with jurisdictioun and power of justiciarie be the said Schir Johnne Maitland of Thirlstane, knicht, his airis and assignais in all tyme heirefter, as in the said infeftment at mair lent is contenit. And siclyk oure said soverane lord and his saidis thre estaittis in parliament, for the causis foirsaidis, have ratifeit and apprevit and, be the tennour heirof, ratifies and apprevis the uther infeftment maid under oure soverane lordis grite seill to his said richt traist counsallour and his airis maill lauchfullie gottin or to be gottin of his bodie, quhilkis failyeing, to his airis maill quhatsumever, off all and haill the landis, lordschip and baronie of Mussilburghschir, with annexis, connexis, pairtis and pendicles of the samin, advocatioun and donatioun of the kirkis, chappellanreis and preceptories thairof, as thai ar specialie contenit, mentionat and incorporat in the said infeftment liand within the schirefdome of Edinburgh. And als oure soverane lord and his thre estaittis foirsaidis, for the causis abonespecifiit and of thair certane knawlege, has ratifiet and apprevit and, be the tennour heirof, ratifies and apprevis oure said soverane lordis lettres under his grite seill, grantit and gevin to his said rycht traist counsallour, makand him and his airis his hienes undowtit cessioneris and assignees in and to the lettres of reversioun maid be the provest, baillies, counsall and communitie of his hienes burgh of Edinburgh to oure said soverane lordis umquhile derrest moder, hir airis and successouris, for redemptioun fra thame of the superioritie of the town of Leyth, liand within the said schirefdome of Edinburgh, annaliit be oure said soverane lordis umquhile derrest moder under reversioun, contenand the soume of ten thousand merkis usuall money of this realme, as the said reversioun and the saidis lettres of assignatioun under the greit seill at mair lenth proportis; quhilkis infeftmentis particularlie abonewrittin and assignatioun foirsaid his hienes and his saidis thre estaittis will sall stand in full force and effect in tyme cuming in all headis and claussis and circumstances thairof foir evir.
