The kingis majestie and his thrie estaitis convenit in this present parliament, considering the greit abouse and disordour standing amangis his hienes subjectis of all degreis in the licentius eating of flesche everie day, quhilk, besyde uther greit inconvenientis, is the occasioun of greit derthe of all maner of fleschis; for remeid quhairof, it is statut and ordanit be oure said soverane lord, with advise of his saidis thrie estaitis, that na maner of persone nor personis his subjectis of quhat estait, degrie or conditioun that ewir they be of, sall presume or tak upon hand to eat ony maner of flesche in tyme cumming on Wodnisday, Fryday or Settirday or in the tyme of Lenteren, under the pane of confiscatioun of all thair moveable gudis to oure soverane lordis use; and that his majesteis thesaurar caus inquyre, serche an[...] contravenaris of this present act, call and accuise thame thairfoir, and thai being convictit, to [...]and uplift the said pane upon thame with all rigour in exemple of utheris.
