The benefits of the pacificatioun grantit to Adame McCulloch, sumtyme Merchemond herauld

Oure soverane lord, of his speciall grace, with avise and consent of the thrie estatis of this present, for wechtie and guid considerationis tending to the establissing of peax and quietnes and universall obedience of his hienes aucthoritie within this realme, hes gevin and grantit and, be the tennour heirof, gevis and grantis to the said Adame Mackulloche, burges of Edinburgh, the like favour, grace and benefite of pacificatioun, sua that he may bruik and jois the privilegeis and conditionis contenit in the pacificatioun maid and accordit upoun at the burgh of Perthe, the xxiij day of Februar, the yeir of God jM vC lxxij yeris, and sensyne ratefeis and apprevis the samyn in his hienes parliament haldin at Edinburgh in Aprill, the yeir of God jM vC lxxiij yeiris, and declaris the samyn pacificatioun to be als largelie and favorablie extendit and interprete in favouris of the said Adame McCulloche, for suirtie of him, his lyf and bruking of his honouris, offices and liberteis, as gif he had bene speciallie nominat and comprehendit thairin, or as gif the haill articles, clausis and conditionis of the said pacificatioun wer heirin expreslie specefeit. And for his better securitie, our said soverane lord, with advise foirsaid, hes ratefeit and apprevit and, be the tennour heirof, ratefeis and apprevis the foirsaid pacificatioun gevin and grantit to the said Adame MacCulloche in maner abonewrittin, in all pointis, efter the forme and tennour thairof, and declaris the samyn to have full strenthe, force and effect in tyme cumming, and extendis the samyn pacificatioun to him as the samyn is extendit to ony uther persoun of befoir obtenar of the like, providing alwayis that the samyn be not extendit to the murthouris of our soverane lordis father and tua regentis, nor to the crymis of wichecraft and incest, bot be thir presentis speciallie and expreslie exceptis the samyn; and also providing that the geving of this present pacificatioun and confirmatioun thairof on na wayis hurt nor prejudge Gilbert Guthrie, now Merchemont herauld, anent the bruiking of the office thairof during his lyftyme, conforme to the said Adame McCullochis renunciatioun and discharge following, subscrivit with his hand, of the quhilk the tennour followis:

I, Adame Macculloch, sumtyme Merchemont herauld, now Orknay herauld, be the tennour heirof, is content and consentis that in the pacificatioun to be grantit to me be our soverane lord at this present parliament thair salbe speciallie reservit and exceptit the office of Merchemont herauld, quhilk wes disponit be my foirfalture in the lait trubillis to Gilbert Guthrie, now Merchemont herauld, during all the dayis of his lyftyme, bot prejudice of the rest of the benefits of the said pacificatioun and of the first ordinar place to be gevin to me that sall happin to vaik; renunceand and dischargeand all rycht, titill, interes and kyndnes quhilk I have, or may have, to the said office of Merchemont herauld during the said Gilbertis lyftyme in his favouris be thir presentis. Subscrivit with my hand at Edinburgh, the xvj day of November, the yeir of God jM vC lxxxj yeris, befoir thir witnesses: Robert Menyeis of Petfoddellis, proveist of Aberdene, Maister Thomas Menyeis of Durne, Alexander Hay, burges of Aberdene, William Hendersoun, constable deputt and William McArtnay, writtar.
